What's happening now is abnormal to say the least and the country needs leadership to take us out of our debt hole, unemployment and when the dust settles massive small business closures and bankruptcies. In summary we need a well devised economic plan ( not economic management by crisis) and leadership which will put the country first rather than the economic interests of a few.
For those hard working Aussies who have lost their jobs through no fault of thrown and found themselves ignominiously in dole queues for the first time in their lives, then there has to be reform; reform which will mean that honest hard working Aussies are not a pay packet away from the breadline.
It is an absolute disgrace for Australia being one of the richest nations on earth resources wise, a relatively small population and those resources being owned by foreign multinationals with the majority of profits going overseas.
IMO, we should have copied Norway 40 years ago rather than relying on big business and big unions sponsored pollies to do the job for us. "She'll be right" was obviously not good enough...eh?
