But the Queensland Government says there is no evidence to support the new claims the UCG project is contaminating the water.
The company involved says no problems have been detected at the Kogan site.
Department of Environment and Resource Management (DERM) director-general John Bradley says officers were unable to retest the creek until early this month because of poor water flows and access problems.
Mr Bradley says another round of test results are due back next week.
"The danger for us in this issue is that if we rush to judgement and we were to promote that we had a serious exceedence that was actually threatening stock safety when that isn't, what our tests results show that we would do lasting damage and repetitional damage in trade markets," he said.

Now, wouldn't it have been nice of DERM to have applied the same non-judgemental metrics to CXY? Looks like they're learning though :) Problem with their use of the lingo though...translation errors by the journos perhaps?
