It's clear to me that politicians at all 3 tiers of government are failing us - big time. And the press as well. Failing us over a whole raft of issues. Parliamentary democracy just isn't working as it ought; not for the country nor for the people. To me the real tragedy lies with the fact that we don't just don't seem to have the will to pursue a more ethical form of participatory democratic government. I reckon that a version of the Tasmanian Hare-Clark model utilised at both State and Federal levels might work better. And lets have elections every 5 years.
