That’s what ambulance cover and travel insurance is for.
I was attended to twice by paramedics while on holiday in Tasmania a few years back. The first call they attended and decided I would be okay. My wife rang a second time and this time I was taken to Launceston Hospital.
When I returned home I received a bill for $1800 for the first call and a bill for $6000 for the trip to the hospital. Passed both bills onto SA Health and both were covered via Ambulance cover
It’s the only insurance that I’m in front with. Been in an ambulance six times and would have cost me $12,000 to $15,000 had I had no cover.
