why "diet" at all? the results of anything temporary will revert back to "normal" once the diet is stopped

as an alternative, why not just:

    - drink more water
(pretty easy, try and drink a decent amount in the morning before breakfast)

    - eat more fresh fruit and vegies
(organic if availability permits - luckily organic f+v doesn't cost any more at my local)

    - eat less meat, and when you do ensure its fresh
(butchers will know which of their products are preservative / additive free)

    - stock up on vitamin intake
(the RDI issued by the govt is the minimum to stop health negative effects - it is not the intake required to promote healthy living. eg for Vit C it is the recommended intake to stop scurvy. don't think anyone has ever died of a vitamin overdose)

    - eat less processed anything
(a failsafe diet cutting out all "numbers" isn't practical for me, but there are normally options without preservatives / colouring / flavour enhancers for most items)

following the above and exercising less (due to time constraints, not choice) I'm now at the lightest and healthiest i've been since uni days
