Comedy has changed a lot over the years, and sometimes you need to update. The current trend with stand-up comedy is for people to treat it like a therapy session. They tell the audience how messed up they are, and some people love it. But you'd never call it comedy. It's more like the audeince going "oh yeh, been there!" rather than laughing out loud. I find it boring.
