Dex, the community might accept the need for belt tightening but only if it is seen to be shared across all parts of the economy.
Hockey's budget is not seen that way because it places a burden of cuts on the lower and middle income people while doing nothing about addressing the well known tax dodges which mainly benefit the rich and multinational companies. That is why the Senate is blocking a lot of the budget and why the bulk of people are cheering the Senate on.
