It's been fascinating and absurdly enjoyable watching the hard right implode over the last few days. Nobody plays the game of recrimination and blame-shifting better than "the party of personal responsibility". No introspection. No self-doubt. It couldn't be that right-wing policies are various shades of wrong, unpopular and out-of-touch (with both reality and the general public). Never countenance the possibility that the surge in popularity on switching to Turnbull was born out of elated hope that we might see some sanity returning to the LNP asylum, and that the slide back down came from a weary realisation that nothing has really changed. NO! It MUST be the Australian population standing up to punish the traitor! HE'S the cause of all our woes! Burn him! BURN HIM!
