Yes confusing indeed. This brought me some clarity...

The 2 October low for the NASDAQ Composite was 2040.73.

Overnight low was 2040.21.

For my mind that explains why we had a rally into the close.

I doubt it will be sustainable as the NASDAQ100 hasn't got there yet, and of more note for my mind, nor has the S&P500.

The pattern of the move down on the daily looks unusual to me. It doesn't look like a usual downtrend. As wink said it appears to be grinding down. If that is what it is doing, ordinarily that would be followed by a fast move up but there would be more time needed to be confident of figuring out what is going on here. One day could change the look of it atm.

Short would still be the preferred play imo.
