I found this amazing historical record of an 1890 trip to Greenland and Ivigtut. It really captures the dangers and beauty of this place. Also contains excellent descriptions of what the early pit was like and what minerals they located whilst chasing cryolite down the into the mountain... and what they did with the 'Defiled' cryolite.
