A simple HFT strategy is stack the buy side (when market get's close pull them off) remove any sell side, make it look very weak, wait for people to place an limit order in the buy side, buy up/remove sell side stock, as the retail investor panick's they then flip it back to them at the higher price. A game of musical chair's, and the algo's are seldom the one's left standing.
Huge increase's, with huge volume with no fundamental reason are so not good, I said it last week, but I would be running for the door right now (sprinting actually).
Oh well take it if you believe the move is legit.
