This is what we are witnessing. George W Bush has just accelerated the process. Americans are too self centred to dominate a truly global economy. Now they are paying the price for not being a more outwardly focused nation, operating in a global environment. There will be short term pain for all, including professional traders, but I for one would much rather operate in markets, dominated not by one superpower, but rather by a cooperation of countries participating in a truly global economy.

The sad fact is that most Americans wont realise that their dream has ended until it is long gone.
