I have just played this game. I went totally to cash (except for my rrs which it looks like I will take to my grave) about 2 weeks ago and watched the Market Rally and Fall and eventually bought back in on thursday. I am in a much better position now then when I sold but I could have very easily been chasing my own stock at higher prices.
There is every reason to believe the Market will fall further but consider the upside on what you now own.
My portfolio is so much better than it was 12 months ago but worth considerably less and if I don't do anything Stupid then sometime in the next 5 years if the markets recover to what were my initial buy in prices then I will more than double my money. It will be very hard not to play on the way but it is some comfort to know that the Best thing I can Do is Do NOTHING.
