I meant simple morality, simple decency, not a God who is described as ordering the slaughter of the 'enemies' of the tribe of Israel, woman children and livestock, not God who orders a man to be killed for gathering sticks on a Sabbath. So in terms of the brutality in the bible and basic moality, what exactly is inspired by the timeless qualities of a mind capable of creating a Universe?
The ancients were just as intelligent as us, same brain capacity and ability to learn, yet God the Creator of the Universe can do no better than keep them in the dark, encourage tribalism, order killings, murder the first born of Egypt and drown the whole world?
I'm sure you could do better as a teacher and guide than Yahweh the god of Israel.
