The Ethics or Business

Annie One and Interested Onlooker have highlighted the efforts Bassari (Alex, Ian et al) has made to support the local community. It's easy to forget this is someone else's country we're digging up for personal profit. Sure we've followed the rules, but you can still follow the rules and not do the right thing. Business should be win win. We will profit more by being good neighbours and good citizens, I guarantee it. The slightly extra costs involved will be repaid many times over. And even if they weren't, it's worth the extra cost to know you're doing the right thing. I do not want to profit at someone else's expense.

Which of course leads me to the ethics of HC posters. Our discourse here should also be win win. I'm appalled by the thought someone might try to shake shares loose through deceit or disingenuous comments. There will always be shares available if you want them. There will always be people who have to sell for various reasons. That's life. I think however we need to support "the weaker hands" with critical assessment of what's happening. I don't want to profit at someone else's expense.
