Good post - so good in fact that it's had 1693+ views already (or is that just my computer, maybe I'm blinded by 'faith') :D
In my opinion it is a failure of science that it has not yet been able to communicate the most basic paradigm of universal acceptance of principle to all of the so-called “intelligent” species.
I'm not convinced it's a 'failure of science' - more like a human failing - despite our intelligence, humans seem to have a vast capacity for rationalising what we want to 'believe' - and rationalising away what we don't want to 'believe'.
