re: george. just do it. Hmmm... the Iraqi oil question is but one part of the overall US economic recovery initiatives ... as I have posted elsewhere, the US 'think tank' have sought to replace GREED with FEAR as the chosen methodology to marshall the US collective national psyche in what is seen as a time of crisis ...
S11 whilst a tragedy was nevertheless the catalyst and timely opportunity to script this strategy which has worked before very successfully ... e.g. following Pearl Harbour.
The basket of economic initiatives by Bush's mob include a sub$20.00 Oil price and accordingly the US equally has a vested interest in cessation of Iraqi oil sanctions ...
Notwithstanding the side issue that Bush is an ex-oil man remember and understands the forward leverage that would be afforded if current Iraqi exploration/production agreements with Russia/France could be overturned ... an Iraqi occupation would achieve this.
The bigger issue is the deconstruction of Islamic medieval theocratic dictatorships as the price for inclusion into the global economy and thereby seek to bring some stability to the Middle East region ...
Iraqi links to terrorist groups such as Al Queda are known and can only continue. North Korea recently shipped missiles to Yemen thought to be the current refuge and major base for Bin Laden.
Terrorism is the recalcitrant child of Islam which needs to be civilised to accept change as part of personal growth.
The international chess game continues and is just as deadly as it has always been which is something the 'lefty bleeding hearters' forget as they incessantly bark cowardly their anti-US slogans from their distant western comfort zones ... hidden behind the public media spin and 'diplomatic speak' is a lethal game that is very real.
Saddam Hussein is a sociopath hell-bent on acquiring deliverable nuclear weapons (ICBM's) and some sources have him responsible for up to a million lives lost during his regime ... he has used WMD's several times in the past and if deposed should be tried for crimes against humanity similiar to Yugolsavia's Milosovich ...
This is only my view ... read the red stuff.
