The way I see solar working with cars is having a little hydrogen system in the garage, hook it up to the water supply and to panels on the roof (or the whole garage if it is solar steel) then when the car needs a top up you plug it into the hydrogen box to fill it up.
No emissions, only input cost being the water.

I don't really know if that is what the CEGS system sylvia is working on does, but I think it is of that nature, but perhaps powering the house rather than the car.

There will be things like solar curtains (this is the DYE focus) and solar powered fans and things, but we are a long way from making a serious impact on the power train of a car with car mounted solar.
