I live in WA and a couple of my brothers are working FIFO not far from Mnt Weld. Because of the closed border their FIFO mates from interstate have not left WA in a long time. As you know, Mark McGowan is a pretty popular premier and a lot of that is due to his handling of the border and Covid so Lynas operations haven't been disrupted much and neither has the rest of the economy here in WA so far. We've been in a Covid free bubble. When the borders open, Omicron will likely spread through the community and obviously that includes Mnt Weld and Kalgoorlie. In general there is a big demand for workers in mining, shops, restaurants etc so lots of new workers are expected to move here and even property prices are expected to rise further. With the population double vaxed at 92% and rising and McGowan in control, (he has done a frickin great job so far) I'm optimistic that disruptions will be minimized but not completely absent.
