You have introduced a new idea into the debate. Whether it is better to terminate the deal now & renegotiate in a
more favourable environment with keener suitors. It would set the cat among the pigeons.Woodside & Chevron would undoubtedly try harder this time around. Surely we shall get a late Ides of March or early Easter decision?


Note:Yes, Shiraz was a wonderful place . I was there in the 60s & 70s . The people were lovely , never a cross word. You could wander for hours through the old bazaar,the walled garden of Hafiz(?) & the mosques. There was even a Christian Hospital in beautiful gardens which dispensed medicine at little or no cost to all religions (rudely closed down). In the summer evenings the scent of millions of roses hung over the town (Bagh Dil something). The generosity & way of life of people in this old Persian city was more akin to that of Omar Khayyam's time than the kafkaesque horror of today. Like MEO, one hopes for a better future .
