the FDA is no more corrupt than any other government department, that's not the issue. The argument to abolish the FDA is decades old and no doubt they have ultimately indirectly killed more people then they ever saved. The real issue is the classic "I'm from the government, I'm here to help" mentality that 99.99% of the population actually believe in too. The fact is good intentions start out as good intentions but ultimately they end up where we are today, bloated governments having a say over every single thing we do.

The FDA should just approve the safety of the drug, that's it. if the doctor thinks it might work, and the patient agrees and is willing to pay for it, then who gives a fk how effective it is. It's none of the governments business what drug a patient wants to use as long as the safety / side effects are known. But as usual, just like EVERYTHING else, the government thinks we need their help. Then Everything the government regulates sky rockets in cost, which we the consumer pay for, plus we pay for the root cause via tax funded government wages.
