My opinion is that as usual prices will explode once there is an obvious shortage. We had a taste of this last year, before all markets collapsed. Because of modern media and communications every man and his dog will be trying to get in on grain futures, etc, but unfortunately due to seasons and lag effects it will be too late and there will be hunger. We can't predict when exactly this will happen, therefore I'd say buy this stuff and be patient. Many commodities are already at or below cost of production. Supply won't be there.
