    Great timing Quiltman.

    For anyone obsessing over the SP, this example shows how in biotech / pharma the deal price is very often disconnected from the MC of the target company. The key determinant is the value of the acquisition to the purchaser. In the case of MPL, if peak sales are forecast through the purchaser's own DD to exceed $1 billion p.a. - a blockbuster - then this will be what shapes their offer. While there are examples of BP buying up a sizeable chunk of a TO target on market - or putting an offer to the market - I cannot see this happening with PAA given the VERY tight register.

    Hold tight - it's going to heat up.
