Henry Skinner, action fund CEO: "We plan to commit over $100 million in capital this year in companies developing clinically differentiated antimicrobials". So they gave part of their 100M for this year but they have still money left. But these leftovers are not for ATH, PBT2 is much more valuable.
PBT2 is for big pharma. IMO, every big pharma company producing antibiotics needs PBT2. But this waiting is difficult because we do not get any news of how the negotiations make progress. However, this action fund news made it clear, that "almost US$ 1B" is not for a product like PBT2 killing most of the resistant bacteria and preventing their development with generic antibiotics. This 1 B needs to last for 10 years, 100M each year. Big pharma deals of PBT2 must be worth more.
