    Help me out here, Han. I can recall you telling us some time ago that you own a hybrid Camry. I presume your decision to buy one was based more on economical, rather than for environmental reasons. After all, fossil fuels are expensive and are getting dearer, so the less you burn, the more you save.

    Using the same logic, I can't believe you wouldn't also apply that to your household energy, for the same reasons.

    Even without energy storage, you could reduce your grid supplied electricity or gas use by a considerable amount. In my own case, my electricity costs me about one third of what it used to be before I installed solar. I might add that the array I have on my current house receives only 6c per kWh.

    If you took the decision to reduce your fossil fuel consumption for transportation, would you not also want similar savings from your household energy consumption?

    Or have you?
