Religion is a great reality check.
It's illogical ignorance lets us know how much further we have to evolve until we are fully human.
Quiet clearly we have only just begun the process of becoming human. There is a massive disconnect between religion and the as yet tiny amount of reality we have managed to extract from the universe.
Even this precious understanding we have is forced to continually defend itself from industrial religious fantasy.
