    Think of URA as basically a stock, you can buy and sell it just the same, including shorting it.

    URA underlying shares(like ASN) are held by those in the top 20 you as “nominees” - they never actually own the shares themselves, the banks do, and the banks can lend them for shorting. It’s not the ETF doing it itself.
