This is something I am more readily able to understand. In the 6 months to December 2019 the business generated so much cash it was able to pay the full year tax and interest obligation, as well as invest damn near $50M in maintenance, growth and an acquisition.
This is on falling earnings too. It really amazes me just how much of a cash generating machine this business is despite the challenges.

I pulled the trigger and purchased a VodafoneTV set top box. The Gen2 boxes are supposed to be a lot better than the GEN1 boxes. It will allow me to subscribe to Sky TV channels plus have my OTT SVOD apps all on one platform. Deliveries are delayed due to Covid so I have not received it yet, but once I give it a whirl I will give my appraisal to those who are interested.
I think a successful Vodafone TV would be a reason for Sky to
not join the broadband market directly. Why bother if you are able to generate a lot of business by Vodafone paying for internet infrastructure and a TV platform that allows customers to bundle broadband and Sky TV? It is immediately $15/month cheaper than subscribing to Sky directly as there is no MySKY fee (and VTV is a lot easier to use than MySKY with all of the same functionality plus more).
Ultimately I think they need to work on sharper pricing, but I expect Sky will re-jig their bundles for streaming subscribers once they release their new Sky TV app that provides all of their content. Whatever those new bundles are, I would expect them to be available to Vodafone TV subs. I can't see any reason why they wouldn't be.
