    Perhaps this is the reason for the shuttle system, maybe it balances out the weights better then a conveyer system. Also there is the issue of impact risk during wind i.e. the boom is moved by the wind beyond the ability to control of detect it, leading to impact. It's not just the boom that has to be stabilised, it is the brick itself the angle of movement accelerates the brick in a direction just before placement. Gyros may cause opposite directional load on a part which could change the wear and tear amounts.
