I think we have to accept that if we get to the stage that we have to carry a brief case full of gold bars to pay for our food we will be in a different world and there will be new rules, and possibly a pistol to enforce them to encourage people to give us genuine gold bars

There is always the possibility of a gold or silver backed currency, but that would send the banks broke overnight and that would be a shame
