While of course we can't rule out KPI as a potential suitor for the NovoSorb dressing, my money is on the "beau what brung us to the dance".
Sure, we couldn't make a deal with them ahead of the trials, but so what?
We are still on good terms with the "suitor," we're collaborating on other applications with them, they know the product well, and they are sure to be back before the dance is over.
Why? Because they know that if they don't, they're going to "lose the girl."
That's my read anyway. The NovoSorb dressing offers so many advantages over the Granufoam dressing that it would grab significant market share virtually out of the gate. It's hard for me to imagine that this deal won't be consummated upon completion of these trials, i.e. around the end of the year, first quarter 2013 at the latest.
