Garyric under the TGA special access scheme, the course of 12 injections cost $995 (with no rebate) plus an additional $170 or so (after rebates) for medical consultations - the before and after MRI scans were at no cost. However I believe that when the product is commercialised the after benefits cost will be much less.

I am now 13 months past my last injection - when I completed my course I thought repeat treatment after 12 months would be acceptable and every month after a bonus. Plus I am walking approximately 12 kms every day and the second worst thing you can do to a knee is walking.

My attitude is that if I have to repeat the dose every 2 or 3 years and can keep exercising and avoid a knee replacement then this is in fact a wonder drug and the shares I hold will be a very valuable asset in the future.
