"The so called Club of Rome was inspired by the student uprisings of 1968.Often regarded as a revolutionary period that had the Ruling classes trembling at the knees. The Club of Rome wanted to remove modernity from the average Joe blow and certainly from colonials."

About the first part you maybe right. As to the rest, I am not even sure if can understanding you. Are you talking about attempts at taking away the mini skirt; the pill; the ability to smoke pot or attending anti-Vietnam war rallies or having long hair or going around in a Citroen 2cv, the Volkswagen Beetle or the Fiat 600; or what?

As to the removal of modernity from the colonials I am even at a greater loss.

Anyway, at the time there was an issue about the centre and the periphery, where the centre (to a large extent composed by ex-colonial powers) was said to be taking advantage of the periphery (mainly composed by ex-colonies) not to the benefit of the capitalist class, but to the benefit of the average joe at the centre.

A case of neo-colonialism with the workers at the centre exploiting their counterparts at the periphery. An idea encapsulated in what became known as the unequal exchange,

Basically, the idea was that while the capitalist class could not take advantage because of the tendency of the rate of profit to equalize around the world, the average Joe could through the mechanism of unequal exchange.
