In my last post I gave you some news without commenting and did so in order to see if any of you could venture one, but as expected none of you managed to come forward saying that this is a case of dirigisme, an economic doctrine already discussed here, something I would expect most of you to consider as unamerican. Actually, it fits quite well with the "The Inflation Reduction Act",
"Dirigisme or dirigism (from French diriger 'to direct') is an economic doctrine in which the state plays a strong directive (policies) role, contrary to a merely regulatory interventionist role, over a market economy."
