Yes you will get sick and can transmit it, but if the effects are not severe then it is manageable like any other sickness.

The new strain seems to be more infectious, but does not seem to be reflected in a large spike in hospitalisations like the case numbers have.

I think the vaccine has done well to stop severe illness, I think the next step is focus on a treatment. If you are vaccinated but still get the virus and fall sick, a treatment can be available to help with the symptoms you experience.
