"cugs, there must be two Australias"

There is mate. One for the rich and powerful holding all the cards, and another where the vunerable are exploited.

"That means that only a boss who is a real dill is not going to look after his employees when they are so difficult to attract and keep. I simply don't see it happening."

You need to have your eyes opened to the way many employers treat their employees thanks to Howards "NO CHOICE" IR Laws.It is a disgrace. That's the reality.

"Not everybody wants to be just another bland 9 to 5 worker,"

That's right. And it is those like me that work shift work including Saturdays and Sundays as well as public holidays who have had their loadings/penalty rates etc taken away by these laws. Take it or leave it is NO CHOICE.

"When you have young single people on agreements in normal jobs, able to buy their own homes as well as cars, things are not too bad."

Ever heard of interest rates.....keep interests rates low. Was that a promise or a "core promise".

"Cities by their vary nature can be expensive places to live, that is the means of regulating their growth. Those with money can buy convenience, those with less have to do without those conveniences and live on the fringe. It has always been that way, and always will be."

    That's a great argument......not!

"People are gradually waking up to the fact that most obese people are responsible for their own situation"

I think you have lost the plot. "It's all their fault" is classic torry clap trap.

"If may well be that it is not the IR laws that are the problem people make them out to be. You cannot say that a person in a desk job in the city deserves a higher wage than a person doing the same job in a regional area, I think most reasonable people agree that there must be equality."

Exactly! And Howard's IR laws take away the award. No more collective barganing. Why? Because that is when the worker has the most leverage. Take it away and that is when the worker is at their most vunerable. Simple really.

"I can remember the days when one of the most powerful incentives in getting people to accept responsiblility for their own situations was the fear of being labelled a bludger. Now with political correctness it may be the IR laws that are taking on that role."

Ah yes. Survival of the fitnest. Forget the vunerable.
Are you sure you are not a fully paid up member of the Troglodite Party?
