At Luke chapter 4, we have the account of the devil temping Jesus with all the kingdoms of the world if he performs an act of worship . Jesus's answer at verse 8 is informative; 8 Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God and serve him only.’” Who is "the Lord your God" that Jesus was referring to? . If it is the Lord Jesus,then Satan's temping him would be absurd. No doubt Jesus had in mind the words found at Deuteronomy 6:13; Thou shalt fear Jehovah thy God; and him shalt thou serve, and shalt swear by his name.
