Personally I am holding for the medium term bull market trend and will be doing my best to exit near the peak that I think we will see within the next 2-3 years.
Civilisation has survived on a gold standard before though, no reason that holding Gold long term is a belief in total collapse.
P.S. If all humans decided before modern civilisation that life was not living then we would have never reached this point ;)
