Many years ago I was lucky enough to be exposed to ADO when it was full of promise (and expectation) and was sitting around the 6c mark. I was well researched, well connected and believed in Geoff, Joe and the technology. I held all the way to the highs of 27c and was so passionate about the company that I told all of my friends and family about it along the way.

Some of them made a lot of money trading ADO. Most were like me and believed (in the story and) that we would become an instrumental part of the diagnostics market. Share prices of a $1 plus were discussed and anticipated. Big brands were exposed as investigating our secret sauce and surely it was only a matter of time. Unfortunately for me life happened along the way. I started a new business, bought a large block of land and my investment in ADO needed to be sold down to fund these events. Unfortunately for ADO the commercialisation of the product was a disaster and huge mistakes were made. It hasn't sat well with me that I lost many hundreds of thousands of dollars on ADO. It hasn't't sat well with me that people that trust and believe in me have lost significant sums of money due to their belief in me and ADO.

Over the last couple of years I have stepped well back from ADO. I have occasionally read a post or announcement but have not held and have felt for those that have lost money on their investment. Having said that it, we all chose to buy. We weren't forced. It was our decision. There are many on this thread that need to just accept that they made a mistake and stop moaning about it. It's getting old. VERY old. Life is 10% what happens to you and 90% how you react to it. Pick yourself up, dust yourself off and go again. Complaining about it month after month year after year does nothing.

So. ADO has picked itself up. Dusted itself off and is having another crack. There is new blood and renewed enthusiasm and expertise. We know that Joe and Stefan went to Polaris - and that based on the visit Stefan joined ADO as CEO (and ADO has invested more money and efforts into batteries). We know that Polaris are experts in batteries and their feedback has led to these events. We now from todays announcement that we are expecting to have a commercial document (validated by experts) that ADO will be able to use in market in the next 6 months. Maybe I am reading between the lines but I wouldn't accept the job as ADO CEO unless I believed in the future potential.

Now, an interesting side note. A few weeks ago I was in Europe for business and stopped at Lake Como for a night as they were packing up for winter. At breakfast I got speaking to a really interesting bloke who turned out to be the designer of Mission E (Porsche's first foray into electric cars). I asked him a loaded question "so what's the biggest challenge with electric cars?" and I am sure you already know the answer - "the battery" he replied. I mentioned that I knew of a company who were patenting a technology that delivered 20% improvements to batteries and he couldn't get his business card out of his wallet fast enough. When I got back to Australia I contacted ADO to verify the gains that could be achieved and was told that gains could potentially be in the vicinity of 30-40% with the technology applied to all of the battery components. Now when the battery world is having incremental improvements of around 5% year on year, the sort of gains that ADO can potentially deliver become VERY, VERY compelling.

Could this be the start of something big AND could ADO with their patented technology become a gold standard for batteries?

The next few months will make or break us so it all comes down to how you view risk vs reward......
