Yeah, sovereign risk is a big issue with these offshore projects. Not one single ton of nickel has ever been exported out of SI not even BHP way back in the 70's was able to get the project working. There is not enough NI resource for a refinery / plant to be built in country, so DSO is the only way to ever make it viable. Also the resources need to be consolidated to really be economical. I believe Kolosori has been cut in half. Axiom at one stage had the entire tenement along with San Jorge which made them viable together, on there own I would imagine they are marginal.
But, too much political interference and corruption afoot to ever get these project going. Its a real shame, because hundreds of jobs can be created with this projects not to mention the indirect impacts.
