Ok I just did a bit more research ( I should be studying but that can wait another minute).
As per ASX short sale data and My trading account total volume the results for today are...
Short Sold: 4,795,271
Volume: 75,974,786
Which puts todays short sales at around 6.31%. Thats massively down on the middle of june.
My interpretation would be...
Looks like the shorts wernt anticipating today (ie no shorts before the crash) and are not confident about a short position after the crash.
