VRE has got 694,000 ounces indicated and 202,000 ounces of inferred resources. That has to be good, or so I thought. January production of about 6,500 ounces was not up to expectation, compared to the December production of 10,298 ounces. But the November production was only 6,278 ounces and nobody was getting nervous when this figure was released, me included.
VRE's debt of $9.5 million is not great, but they do have $5 million in the bank. If the sale of Carnilya Hill falls through, then this debt, combined with the reduced revenue is starting to look pretty bad. Although I do recall some posters being upset when the Carnilya Hill sale was announced.
But what's really ugly is that the people that we trusted to keep us informed, sat on these poor January output figures while they were publishing the rosy December quarterly report. Only two weeks have passed since the quarterly report and VRE has brought in administrators. I have a gut feeling that there is a lot more that we have not been told and there is more bad news to come.
I did a lot of research before I bought last week, but I never saw this one coming.
