@Ianwil. You are allowing ideological rubbish to negate facts. Tell the savings to the people who lost powe,r due to the alternative energy not working. The battery would run the Tomago Aluminium smelter for seven minutes.

The Tomago smelter in NSW draws 950MW constantly at full production.. As the load can be varied as required. It can be varied as needed, and for as long as needed. During the recent NSW bushfires, it enabled NSW to avoid load shedding. Therefore it as effective as a hundred or more of your prized battery. Because; any part of that 950MW can be diverted for as long as necessary. Ten 100MW batteries will only do that for an hour. Thus, you would need 144 batteries to last 24hrs @600MW for instance.

If you only discharge the Li battery to 80% (recommended) you would then need 173. Also, once the batteries are a few years old they may have lost 20%. of their capacity, therefore you would need 210 batteries to supply 600MW for 24 hours. Now. If you had to do that for a week you would need 1500 batterjies. At what cost again? The Tomago smelter pays the NSW Government.

Sorry to confuse you with facts. My apologies dear boy....Marum.(Die electrickshe Katze)
