BTW I found the good Mr. Winchester's book interesting , but more a social novel of the time and events. A bit long and rambling perhaps. I would probably have written it in two thirds of the words, or less.
If it is your first read on the subject - then go for it. It may pique your interest in such phenomena.....Marum.
