    I'm not a believer because the evidence to back religion just doesn't stack up anymore.

    I was a believer in my youth because I was silly enough to believe in my teachers (went to a Catholic College) who hammered us with the Faith, Hope and Charity slogan and pumped us full of fear and eternal damnation if we step out of religious line.
    Was almost ready to join the brotherhood after spending a week end of prayer at the seminary.

    Then I went to Italy for 10 years and saw what a cabal the Church really was - this was in the early seventies and the suspicious knocking off of Pope John Paul Uno opened my eyes to what religion really was.

    The more I lost faith in religion and the more I started to question God - and the more I questioned God the more I came up with conclusions that made me drift apart from my youthful beliefs.

    Age taught me to think for myself and come up with my own conclusions
    some of us still have to cross that bridge
