Picture: Jeff Camden Source: News Limited ROCK ‘n’ roll and rugby league are back with this year’s NRL grand final day set to be headlined by a Hall of Fame guitarist and a Grammy award winning band. The Sunday Telegraph can reveal the NRL are planning to announce popular US band Train and Slash, the former lead guitarist of Guns N’ Roses, as the pre-game entertainment for the October 5 decider at ANZ Stadium.
Train, whose hits include Drops of Jupiter and Hey Soul Sister scored the US rock act three Grammy awards, will also release their seventh album next week.
The announcement of Slash to the grand final day entertainment is an obvious fit with his sizzling solo work providing the theme music for Nine’s NRL finals coverage.
The arrival of both rock acts underlines a week-long celebration ahead of the grand final, with details for fans set to be announced by the NRL in coming days.
