If we were to tax the extractors properly - every miner has to pay 3xwhat they do now, we would STILL be one of the cheapest places to extract from.
Currently we are giving away our gas, our minerals. Just ask the NT - there is government handouts going to these big miners and they are laughing all the way to the bank.
(Middle Arm project is worth Billions - we are not even trying to get more out of the corporates!)
