    Seems acid sulphate soil is an industrial waste but the definition of catagory A is material that must be treated and is not allowed to be dumped in landfill. This probably includes radioactive material, bio hazardous material, acids, heavy metals etc. You would think ASS would be catagory A as you can't just take a truck load down to your local dump and start unloading. Must be treated with lime if stored above the water table.

    I think Moggs is on the money. Landfills are usually above the water table aren't they? I think PASS and ASS are special cases and the EPA site states there must be a management plan in place before any excavation is undertaken.
