I think that PK would gain more respect if he said something like this:
"The Libs didn't do anywhere near the number of reforms that I did. The only one they can claim is the GST. Everybody knows I wanted to do that one as well but I couldn't get my colleagues to agree. To their credit they stuck with it even after losing an election to me when I opposed it. I also regret that Labor's opposition to it meant that we ended up with the Silly Democrats getting all sorts of crazy amendments to it so we are stuck with a bastardised version.

.....or similar.
But no, he just has to snipe at it, claiming it didn't change behavior, whatever that means.
