Where did you get that rubbish from Champ?? It was all Howard & co, with a little pay off or two to a couple of independents and the National Party. All on the public record for you to source, and you know, get the facts right. That said, I've taken the time to lay it all out for you, and higlight your misconceptions.



1) T1 sale (33%)
Dec '96....The Coalition-led Bill for the sale of T1 (33%) passed the Senate with the support of independents Mal Colston and Brian Harradine.



2)T2 Sale (16%)
Although widely opposed in the Senate and in the public, in Jun'99, the Senate finally approved the government's plans. This agreement hinged on the support of two Independents (Harradine and Colstoun again) with whom political deals were done to pass the legislation


3)T3 Sale (34%)
Even though the senate had in 2004 twice knocked back further attempts to sell the commonwealth's remaining stake in Telsta, it was in Aug 2005 that the Liberal party declared that the sale of telstra would go ahead in 2006.
Opposition to the Telstra sale was again widespread. Howard had to agree to a $3.1 billion dollar package to improve rural services to placate his National Party allies who faced a backlash in their electorates. Even though the Coaltion had clear majorities in both houses of parliament, the T3 legislation cleared the Senate by only one vote.



Sorry champ, but the sale of Telstra, T1 T2 & T3, was entirely engineered and carried out by the Howard Govt.
